Carson Palmer remained in concussion protocol on Tuesday, further clouding the question everyone is waiting to have answered: Who will start at quarterback for the Cardinals Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers?  The Arizona Cardinals placed running back Chris Johnson on injured reserve and the team signed running back Kerwynn Williams to the active roster. Bowles said it is too soon to know if WR Eric Decker(shoulder) has any shot at playing this week. Dez Bryant‘s hairline knee fracture kept him out of the Cowboys’ Week 4 win over the San Francisco 49ers, and NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday the injury could keep him out one to two weeks.  Running back Arian Foster(groin/hamstring) once again sat out practice, and is leaning inactive for another week. Tight end Julius Thomas (left elbow ligament sprain) is expected to return for the Chicago game.  Panthers quarterback Cam Newton faces a series of neuro-psychological tests in coming days after sustaining the first documented concussion of his NFL career. Newton’s practice workload will increase gradually depending on how he fares on the cognitive tests. An independent doctor will have to clear Newton before he’s allowed to play.  Tight end Zach Ertz,  was a full participant in Monday’s practice, which was light, but said he plans to be a full-go all week, and should play against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. “Tight end Larry Donnell is in the concussion protocol, Trevor Siemian on Tuesday said  that he is “feeling pretty good” and is “better today than I was yesterday.” “It’s just sore,” he added. Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that Siemian is day-to-day, but is expected to be available to play against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at Sports Authority Field.  The Ravens are expecting the return of rookie Kenneth Dixon.  Dixon has made good progress from the injury, practicing fully on Friday after two consecutive days of limited participation. He is expected to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Washington Redskins at M&T Bank Stadium.
